What makes the NEC VersaPro VE notebook special from the rest in the market? Apparently, it comes with an “Eco Button” that supposedly decreases energy consumption by up to 20%. This is amde possible by reducing the processor speed and screen brightness. Man, and I thought the latter can easily be adjusted by the user for all notebooks these days, and all in all automatic power management software does that, except that NEC engineers has reversed the process to make it manual driven. I think the marketing department at NEC needs an overhaul if they were to think that consumers are such gullible people with wool over our eyes.
