Nintendo Tests New Wireless Data Service

Yet again the Japanese have it good – this time with Nintendo testing a new wireless data distribution service via DS Lites. This is made possible with Nintendo teaming up with NTT DoCoMo as well as McDonald’s in the Land of the Rising Sun, allowing DS users to download information on sales campaigns as well as McDonald’s products. Demo games will also be available for download from Nintendo there, along with information for download on train transfers, restaurants, the weather and other news at 20 train stations on the Tsukuba Express line. The trial run of this test will end three days after Christmas. I wonder whether this service will be made available outside of Japan or not in the near future.
