Sony’s Walkman E020 series will finally arrive in the US, and hopefully it will retain the same pricing levels as found in the recent Asian launch with the 1GB and 2GB models retailing for $69 and $79, respectively. One thing different about the E020 is its signature swappable faceplate that make life more colorful, allowing you to suit the color to your current mood. These faceplates won’t come cheap though at $12 a pop – since when did plastic ever get so expensive, anyway? The US model is rumored to do away with Sony’s Windows-only SonicStage software in favor of a drag-and-drop solution, and I second that decision wholeheartedly. The E020 lineup will ship with a built-in three-line color LCD with album art support and premium earbuds.
