Diabetics have yet another piece of technology that will help monitor their current blood sugar level, thanks to the onboard glucose-monitoring system by Medtronic found in the M-Powered Concept Car. Bluetooth will the medium of choice when it comes to data transmission, requiring the patient to wear a continuous glucose-monitoring system (CGMS) in order to get readings of their blood sugar levels via audio and visual cues from the car’s dashboard. This will definitely help reduce the risk of one losing consciousness while driving, keeping both the driver and other road users safe from possible mishaps. Unfortunately, there is no estimate on when such a system will be making its way to the world of commercialism.
