Harvesting Solar Power via Soft House

The Soft House project loves the sun, since it features a structure that is able to create up to 16,000 watt-hours of electricity simply by using household “curtains” that are able to soak up solar power. This is made possible by the use of thin-film photovoltaic textiles which are actually solar panels created from organic photovoltaics. It won’t be as efficient as the silicon-based type, but one advantage they have is the ability to be molded and modified without any manufacturing process. The Soft House won’t be out anytime soon since the high cost would place it out of reach for most people, but it is an interesting concept that helps us keep the earth green while we’re still alive, preserving it for the generations to come.
