Mtron is dead serious when it comes to SSDs, as they are currently working on a next generation which will boast maximum read/write speeds of up to 260/240MBps respectively. Now that’s super fast no matter which way you look at it, and it was made possible by using changing current 4-channel disk controller technology to 8 channels. This is a huge development, since the speediest hard drives in the market today have yet to surpass the 120Mbps mark. It will take a while before such SSDs hit the mainstream market though, and Mtron has slated these new controllers to be available sometime early next year onwards.
