Panasonic Rugged Mini Tablet PC

The Panasonic Toughbook line is about to see yet another addition to the family, and this time the newest Toughbook will come in the form of a rugged mini tablet PC. It will rely on Intel’s latest Atom platform to get things going, featuring a touch-sensitive 5.6″ display, a compact QWERTY keyboard that takes a rather radical design being split in half with a number pad in the center, and miscellaneous sockets located around the edge covered by a rubber hood to prevent water and dust from entering the computer. It is tough enough to handle drops and knocks, so those who are more prone to being butterfingered could seriously consider a purchase. Other details like specifications, shipping dates and prices will be revealed at the official announcement.
