While you’re shielding yourself from the harsh glare of the sun with an umbrella, why not kill two birds with one stone by letting the same umbrella convert solar energy into electricity? That’s the main idea behind the Parasolar concept designed by Oded Shorer. It features photovoltaic laminated panels that will harness the power of sunlight, transferring converted power into the handle which can subsequently be used to juice up gadgets such as portable consoles, digital cameras and cell phones connected to it. The Parasolar offers support for one 12 volts output and two USB sockets. Would be nice to see a taser incorporated into the Parasolar as you can use up it’s energy reserves to zap baddies on your way home.
