Toyota Prius owners, don’t freak out. Yet. Apparently, the hydrogen cell in a Toyota Prius caught fire, and that spread from the back seats all the way to the front. It was later found out that the petrol/hydrogen hybrid Toyota Prius was retro-fitted with a li-ion rechargeable battery system, and chances are that is the culprit behind the fire. After all, Toyota has ensured that all its normal hybrid and electrical cars on the market are perfectly safe. Guess it pays to heed the manufacturer’s instructions not to meddle with the original, eh?
