
It seems that Starbucks Coffee will not be supporting most of its music efforts by the time September rolls around, doing away with full-sized CD racks and reducing selection to a pitiful four “slots” per store. There is more bad news for Apple as well, since the company is tipped to drop all iTunes promotions, ranging from gift cards to special track offers. The only thing Apple about Starbucks Coffee then will be free Internet access for the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. This news comes about as Starbucks is currently struggling with its music business, with an average of 2 CDs being sold by each shop each day – which isn’t enough to justify the cost.
