Seems that karaoke won’t die off a natural death (definitely not a quiet one if its fans have anything to sing about), and it will always be part of life in different sections around the world. Tomy will be introducing the Hi-Kara portable karaoke box this October 18th, boasting a 2.4″ LCD display that shows off the lyrics and a headset to help guide you along as you sing your heart out. It utilizes a prepaid cartridge and must be connected to an Internet website that is dedicated to Hi-Kara, allowing you to download your song from there. Available in white and pink colors, I’m not too sure if this will actually take off Stateside as most karaoke singers aren’t exactly easy on the ears, what more in the public.
