Toshiba 1.8-inch SATA Hard Drive

Toshiba wants to be first in something, so they have decided to cobble together this 1.8″ hard drive which features SATA connectivity, offering up to 160GB of storage space which makes it the first of its kind in the whole world. Rotating at 5,400 rpm, this new offering from Toshiba has an interface speed of up to 1.5Gbps – definitely way faster than the current generation of 1.8″ hard drives from Toshiba (the MK1214GAH, parallel ATA, 120GB, to be exact). Mass production will begin this August, which means we can see greatly shrunk devices in the near future.
