Android Developers angry at Google

Google has apparently raised the ire of the Android mobile phone operating system developer community after restricting access to the latest version of the software development kit (SDK) to a handful of companies, which ironically, was meant for the open platform. This means the majority of Android developers are now left out in the cold with a 4-month old SDK that was last updated four months ago. The top 50 companies from its recent developer competition have been given access though, and I suppose the brainiacs behind Google have a very good motive for this despite shutting plenty of other people out at the moment. This is in stark contrast with Apple (who is notoriously tight fisted) offering more than 500 applications for download from their App Store. Interesting times indeed.
