Amazon.com watchers will definitely have caught wind of the Asus Eee PC 1000 netbook pre-order. To recap, the Eee PC 1000 features the following :-

• 40GB SSD
• 1GB RAM
• 6-Cell Battery
• Linux operating system

You will be able to place your pre-order for $699.99 and choose from black or white colors. Those who prefer to rock on to Windows XP can opt for the Eee PC 1000H which substitutes the 40GB SSD with a 80GB hard drive instead, and it will be $50 cheaper.
