Bandai might have stumbled upon a goldmine by riding on a remnant name of RIM’s smartphones with the new Smart Berry. This mobile communicator targets the tween grop, featuring wireless capability that allows up to four of similar devices to communicate with one another within a 10-meter radius. Strangely enough, messages are limited to just 64 characters, and there is a virtual pet on board that helps keep your kids occupied during those long road trips. I wouldn’t fork out $96 for that though, as a slight top up would snag me a DS Lite or Sony PSP that offers a much more comprehensive portable entertainment experience.
