ECS G10IL Enters Netbook Market

ECS from Taiwan is preparing to do battle against the Asus Eee PC and the MSI Wind by rolling out the G10IL netbook. Targeting the business community, you will get the following specifications :-

  • 3G support via HSUPA/HSPDA mobile broadband networks
  • EDGE connectivity
  • 8GB SSD drive with Linpus Lite 9.4 Linux
  • 80GB hard drive with Windows XP (if you don’t choose the Linux option)
  • Intel Atom processor
  • 1GB/2GB RAM
  • Battery life has been rated at 5 hours, which is pretty good compared to the Eee PC. Word has it that 3G-capable models will come with connection cards from data network carriers to help keep the prices low. Prices start from $399 upwards as it hits retail stores this September.
