Google’s next move in taking over the world is releasing the availability of 3D cities thanks to the Cities in 3D program. This application allows local governments to introduce a 3D representation of their city to Google Earth, enabling travelers from far and wide to get a better idea of your city before they drop by for a visit. To date, there are already virtual representations of buildings in numerous cities, counties and towns throughout North America, ranging from Washington, DC all the way to tiny McMinnville, Tennessee. To view these 3D cities, turn on the “3D Buildings” layer in Google Earth 4.3 and head to a participating locality.
