Since the Intel Centrino platform has already gone dual core quite some time back, it makes perfect sense should this rumor be actually true by the time September 21 rolls around. Some sources claim that Intel will be introducing a new dual core Atom processor on that particular date, but there isn’t any official statement or retraction from Intel as at press time. The current batch of single core Atoms retail for just $29, so it is expected that the dual core model will go for $43 – not exactly a double in price despite the appearance of looking like it in processing power.
