They say that necessity is the mother of all inventions, and the same rings true for this modified iPhone dock that can now accommodate the recently released iPhone 3G. All it takes is a wee bit of “Dremel action and elbow grease” according to the Engadget folks, helping you save $29 in the process for you to blow on useless yet fun applications (such as the iBeer) for the new iPhone 3G. I sometimes wish that hardware manufacturers will have backwards compatibility in mind instead of having consumers purchase stuff all over again with each new upgrade.
