Those who are rocking to the iPhone with intention to upgrade to the 3G iPhone come this July 11th need not sell or give away their older handset, since these can double up as Wi-Fi enabled iPods – or a “clone” of the iPod touch per se. Well, I thought the whole idea was to prevent carrying around too many devices, and since the 3G iPhone can do all that the original can and more, why bother with the redundant device? Whatever the case is, if you decide to take the route mentioned, make sure you upgrade your original iPhone with iPhone Software v2.0 before deactivating it since there is no official word on whether upgrades can be applied to non-active handsets.
