
While some are debating whether or not we’re in a recession, many companies blame (rightly so) a difficult economic climate for their quarterly performance. That’s not the case with Nintendo, whose sales of Wii hardware (console, Wii-Fit) and software (games) have been going very well, despite (or because of?) a continued shortage of consoles. Nintendo has about 30 million Wii consoles in the field and that they are more likely to sell software, which is the real money maker, even if they can make a small profit on the console itself. The Wii was featured in our uber10 Christmas list.
