Samsung’s femtocell device, the UbiCell, will soon be available no matter which part of the US you’re at from August 17th onwards, thanks to the efforts of Sprint Nextel. What’s the UbiCell? To recap, it leverages Access Point Base Station technology in order to improve upon the spotty connection often associated with cellphones. In layman’s terms, you get improved reception on your cell phone if you’re rocking to a Sprint contract. Guess this is great to have in urban canyons and unexplainable dead spots at home or at the office. Wonder what took Samsung so long for a nationwide roll out since it was already available last September.
