Yamaha Muro Sensor

Yamaha’s new Muro Sensor is able to play music by sensing the direction and speed of acceleration – presumably somewhat like how Sony Ericsson’s shake cell phones work. It comes with a 15cm long chassis and boasts a triaxial acceleration sensor inside. It resembles the Wiimote and comes with a proprietary 2.4GHz wireless module. You can connect up to two dozen Muro Sensors simultaneously to a single base unit, and there is a transmission delay of less than 3ms. Swinging the Muro Sensor will generate preset sounds that are based on those values. Each Muro Sensor has its own ID and generates different sounds, so you can have a field day with your friends annoying your neighbors if you happen to own plenty of these.
