eCafe Hercules Mini Notebook

Here is yet another miniscule piece of computing technology for folks who want a simple yet effective surfing machine along with the ability to work on a spreadsheet or word processor without relying on thumb typing. The eCafe Hercules mini notebook will come with the following :-

  • AMD Geode LX800 500MHz processor
  • 20GB hard drive
  • 512MB RAM
  • 8″ 1,024 x 600 resolution display

It will be powered by a custom version of Linux and is tipped to hit Europe this September for approximately 300 Euros. The low-powered processor should result in a longer battery life, which is a boon to something so small like the eCafe Hercules. Do you think there is an oversaturation of netbooks?
