An FCC filing has revealed that Microsoft’s next-generation Zune update (boy, these folks ain’t throwing in the towel just yet, eh) will come with 120GB worth of storage space, but other than the added capacity, the hybrid touch and directional pad will remain the same. Apparently, Zune 2.5 software will also be retained in the new revision, but there is no confirmation of it just yet. There is no word on when the updated player will be released, but it could follow the fall launch period as traditionally practised by Microsoft. It also remains to be seen whether the $249 price point will be retained for the 120GB Zune.
