Word on the street has it that the Google phone will be known as the G1, and it will come around courtesy of HTC. It is pretty interesting to note that the G1 will retail for $150 during the first week, with the price rising by another 33% the week after followed by a $400 price point thereafter. Don’t say that you have not been warned! It is interesting to see who will pick up the G1 considering the iPhone 3G has been around for a couple of months already. Further rumors point to potential buyers having to own a Gmail account, although this move is rather questionable IMHO as it won’t sit down well with all parties.
