Ikea, famous for their range of affordably stylish furniture (and meatballs), are now expanding their business by turning into mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) – reselling wireless services. The first Ikea to kick off its MVNO status would be in the UK, running on the German-owned T-Mobile network. Dubbed Family Mobile, this service is available only to Ikea loyalty card holders and function as a pay-as-you-go service. There is no word on whether Ikea will introduce this service to other countries, but I guess the UK is a testing ground before a firm decision can be made with regard to the rest of the world.
