Embedded Internet TV is an ambition that both Yahoo! and Intel share after unveiling the Media Processor CE 3100 at IDF, where it will, in theory, be installed inside HDTVs to allow viewers to access Internet-based content minus the need for another set-top box. On a sidenote, you could still get the set-top box if you want to, but that’s another story for a different day. As for Yahoo!’s role, they hope that the Widget Channel will be a favorite whenever boring commercials and re-runs are all you’re getting on the tube at the moment. Hmm, even more reason not to get off the couch, eh? The Widget Channel had better be interesting though if this is to take off.
