It would look as though Nokia will be introducing AMOLED displays in their future handsets as the Finnish cell phone manufacturer have already set the capability of AMOLED development as a condition for the selection of its panel suppliers. Currently, the two panel suppliers for Nokia, AU Optronics (AUO) and TPO Display, are working on new AMOLED applications. It would be interesting to see just how much more clearer an AMOLED display would look like on a cell phone, but chances are the first batch of such handsets will come with a handsome premium.
