Peek Email Gadget

Peek from New York is working on a new %99.95 device that touts itself to be a one-function email gadget and will arrive at Target Stores nationwide come September 14th. I’m not too sure whether there is a market for this device, since many cell phones these days allow you to access the Internet wherever you are, while Wi-Fi hotspots are more common than gold medals in China. This device is say to come with a full QWERTY keyboard and will fetch email via T-Mobile’s network for $19.95 monthly – a price that I think is too high. Are emails really that urgent and important in your life that you have to attend to them immediately? If so, chances are you’re already rocking to a permanent push email solution on a handheld device, so why bother paying even more? Ah well, only time will tell.
