A few years ago, corn-made DVDs were all the rage, promising a new era of eco-friendly piracy data-storage. It didn’t really happen, but with the Samsung E200 Eco (and a few others), gadget outer-shells can also become more environment-friendly. Samsung claims that this bio-friendly plastic is not only easier to dispose of, but it also consumes less oil produces less carbon than its oil-based counterparts. I find the idea of bio-plastics really cool, but if this was to be adopted massively, would it be sustainable?
