Smart Scale Recognizes Fruit

When you mentioned Smart Scale, little did you know that this tiny wonder is capable of knowing what kind of fruit is being weighed. Now that requires some really serious brain power for a dumb home appliance, where all its predecessor did was inform us of the weight and letting us know whether the local vendor has ripped us off or not. Developed by the German Fraunhofer Institute, this Smart Scale will capture an image of the fruit or vegetable in question and then draw up a comparison with a produce database. Heck, it is even smart enough to see through plastic bags, so don’t worry about wrapping up your purchases to prevent bruises and the like. These scales are currently being tested, so it will take some time before they roll out onto the market.
