Apple might have rolled out its third beta of the iPhone 2.1 upgrade, and has been pretty quiet about it as usual. This news comes shortly after word that the recently released 2.0.1 firmware has been successfully cracked, enabling unofficial applications to run freely. There is no word on exactly what Beta 3 ensures, but it is expected to resolve a fair number of bugs found in earlier builds. This fix comes a week and a half after the Beta 2 release, pointing towards a rather short turnaround schedule where Apple’s test releases are concerned. Well, the cat-and-mouse game continues, so expect this firmware revision to be craked – if not sooner than later.
