Amazingly until now, Nintendo has left out DVD playback on the Wii, much to the chagrin of Wii owners. Granted, this is a feature that would be nice to have although it isn’t essential, and it is good to see a genius come up with a method to let you watch regular DVDs on the Wii. Known as the DVDX installer, it will place a tiny hidden channel on the Wii, enabling unmodified Wiis to read DVDs in a flash. There will also be a patch heading our way for the Wii64 N64 emulator for the Wii that enables games to be read off a DVD, further enhancing the functionality of your Wii. Is it still tough to pick up a Wii in your area despite being around for nearly two years already?
