Apple App Store Figures Are Impressive

Just when you thought Apple had hit the motherlode with their release of the iTunes music store many years ago, think again. The App Store from Apple has certainly experienced a phenomenal growth since its inception on July 11th this year, and statistics do not lie.

• iPhone and iPod Touch users have downloaded more than 100 million applications and games
• More than 3,000 applications are currently available
• Over 90% of all apps and games are priced at less than $10
• More than 600 apps are available free of charge

It will be interesting to see how the other device manufacturers play catch up in terms of sales.
