Word on the street has it that Apple and China Mobile are currently in the final stages of negotiations where debuting the iPhone 3G in one of the biggest markets in the world is concerned. A deal is likely to be agreed by both parties in the immediate future, although there is no official statement released from either party yet. With a population of over a billion people, it would be interesting to see how many people living in China will pick up this handset. Currently, China Mobile’s 3G network uses China-only TD-SCDMA technology that is not compatible with Apple’s iPhone 3G handset but should the latter make its way here, chances are the hardware will be tweaked.
