Buffalo 8x Blu-ray Burner

Buffalo is preparing its 8x Blu-ray burners for the US market, including internal and external models. In addition to burning the 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray disc, it is also capable of writing information onto CD-Rs and other DVD-R media without much fuss. The external model will connect via USB 2.0 or eSATA, while the internal drive hooks up to your machine via SATA. Burning speeds are as follows – BD-REs at 2X, DVD-RAM at 5x, DVD±Rs at 16x, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD+RW at 8x, CD-R at 48x and CD-RW at 24x. The external BR-816SU2 will retail for $399.99 while the internal BR-816FBS will burn a $349.99 hole in your pockets. Both models will be available later this month – you game?
