A triumvate of companies – Nissan, NTT DoCoMo and Sharp have teamed up to develop a cell phone that doubles up as an intelligent key for automobiles. Needless to say, this is a first in the world, incorporating Nissan’s Intelligent Key system with wireless communications and electromagnetic technologies into a single device. So your cell phone not only contains your stashed away bank account numbers, email passwords and girlfriends’ numbers, but it can now open and lock your car? That’s way too much liability for someone like me who tends to lose stuff, but for those who are extremely careful and want to carry less items in their pockets, this could be just the ticket.
