Dell plans to go green all the way by including LED backlights in all of its new notebooks within a year’s time, and this green switch will not only benefit the environment but it will also make users happy by offering unprecedented performance benefits such as a longer battery life (LED backlights consumes up to 43% less power at the same brightness compared to standard panels). This nature loving transition will begin on the 15th of December this year, where 67% of all Dell Latitude E notebooks will feature LED backlights as a standard feature along with selected Precision notebooks. The Texas-based company hopes to hit 100% LED backlights by the time 2010 rolls around.
