HTC Opal To Replace Touch?

Word has it that the HTC Touch has reached the end of its shelf life, and will be replaced by the HTC Opal as depicted. This looks (and sounds) like a rumor at this point in time, since the specifications are a dead giveaway – it will apparently rely on the same TI OMAP 850 200MHz processor to function as the device’s brain. Other specifications include :-

  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system
  • New TouchFLO3D user interface
  • TI OMAP 850 processor
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • microSD memory card slot
  • Quad-band GPRS / EDGE
  • 2 megapixel camera

Hopefully the operating system won’t get bogged down by the super slow 200MHz clock speed.
