iPod nano-chromatic: more colors, 8GB and 16GB.

After weeks of rumors, the new $149 (and up) iPod nano is out. It comes with a new aluminum body and an accelerometer, so that it can detect when you’re watching a movie in landscape mode and rotate the display accordingly. Apple has also introduced “shake to shuffle”, wich is a convenient way for going to a random song, without having to press a button or look at the screen. I wonder if an upcoming update would have real “gestures”… Finally, itfeatures “Genius” orwhat Apple calles a “virtual DJ” – Genius will try to analyze your tastes and propose songs that you might like (that might also boost sales). I bet that Apple is becoming an accelerometer “power-buyer”, just like for Flash memory. Someone at Samsung was telling me how powerful Apple’s purchase department had become in the flash memory industry. iPod nano page
