KDDI will be rolling out a new set-top box known as au BOX, allowing users to view both audio and video content downloaded through their TV sets on their au cell phones. Manufactured by ailing handset maker Motorola, the au BOX relies on Opera Devices 9 SDK to get things going. It not only lets you enjoy multimedia content on a compatible handset, you can also browse the Web via your TV – just make sure it is high definition capable in the first place lest you go blind trying to read text on a standard definition display. The au BOX will be out for KDDIs subscribers later this November at a yet unreleased price.
