Leica M8.2 Is Official

Leica has updated its M8 to the M8.2, and certainly does not want to reinvent the wheel since the case remains the same, although you will find that the most important modifications are done on the inside. This 10.3 megapixel CCD camera now comes with a new “extra quiet, low-vibration metal blade focal plane shutter,” boasting a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000th of a second, a new automatic snapshot mode and has the distinction of being the “first professional digital camera” that relies on scratch-resistant sapphire glass as its LCD display. The M8.2 is compatible with M-series lenses and accommodates SDHC memory cards (32GB maximum). Word has it the Leica M8.2 will debut this October for $6,200.
