An unnamed French source has shown images of a new Leica lens known as the Noctilux 50mm ƒ0.95 ASPH, and this will make an official debut at the Photokina show later this month. This new Noctilux lens comes with an extremely wide maximum aperture, coupled with Leica’s ability to function well in low light conditions, and you have a probable winner on your hands. Do expect to break the bank if you want to get your hands on the Noctilux lens though, as it will retail for a whopping €8,000 – that’s approximately a trillion gazillion US dollars. I jest – when converted, that’s roughly $11,300.
