iPhone owners in selected cities will now be able to enjoy live traffic cameras on their handset thanks to Mobileyes, an application that helps commuters avoid rush hour traffic by showing how traffic conditions are like at selected areas. This application currently serves a handful of major US cities (Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Knoxville, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C.), with more in the works. Depending on your handset’s connection speed, you can choose from low, medium and high resolution images. I don’t need to stress that this application should not be used while you’re driving lest you cause an accident and be the source of the next traffic jam instead.
