The phenomenon known as Michael Phelps certainly set alight the imagination of many, with his ability to slice through water at a pace that the world has never seen before. This jack of all trades is certainly master of everything as well, recently picking up an immortal 8 gold medals at the summer Olympics in Beijing. While all those in the military aren’t able to swim as Phelps does, at least they have technology on their side instead of a pair of Speedos. The undersea exoskeleton known as Performance Improving Self Contained Exoskeleton for Swimming (PISCES) features an upper body concept that lets you swim like a penguin by simply flapping your arms. I wonder how effective Solid Snake would be if he had the benefit of PISCES in the Metal Gear Solid series.
