It is official – Pretec has the largest capacity CF card in the world with its new 100GB 333X CF card. Even its smaller brother, the 64GB model, already usurps the previous king of the hill that stood at 48GB. Both Pretec cards will feature access speeds of up to 35MB/s, and you can be sure that your data is stored safely within the metal housing as well as ruggedized construction that bodes well against shocks and impact from the outside, making it 10 times more durable compared to a standard CF card. You can always get a bunch of Pretec 64GB CF cards to form your own 256GB SATA or IDE SSD if you want to, so these aren’t just limited to the domain of digital cameras. The 233X 64GB and 333X 64GB CF cards from Pretec will retail for $399 and $630, respectively as they ship out at the end of this year.
