AT&T has released its rugged Samsung Rugby clamshell handset, making it the first military-spec certified phone from AT&T. While it isn’t the sexiest cell phone on the block, you can be sure the Rugby (as its name suggests) is able to take a pretty decent beating without giving up the ghost. It complies with the Military Standard MI-SID-810F (dust, shock vibration, rain, humidity and solar radiation proof along with the ability to hold out at altitude and temperature extremes). Other features of the Samsung Rugby include :-
- Push-to-talk
- One-way Video Share calling
- Quad-band UMTS and HSDPA
- Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity
- Integrated aGPS
- 2″ display at 128 x 160 resolution
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- 128MB internal memory
AT&T is selling its Samsung Rugby for $280 as a standalone handset, but if you want to commit yourself to a 2-year agreement, you will pay $100 less.
