Sony has released its BDP-S5000E Blu-ray player in Japan, making it one of the high end models that will feature a high-stability precision drive HD transport mechanism, separate video and audio power circuit and a low-leakage R-Core transformer that helps lower electronic and electromagnetic interference. In addition, the ultra-rigid frame itself is extremely heavy, weighing 22lb with a purpose – to greatly reduce physical vibration during playback. The BDP-S5000ES supports both BD-Live and BonusView, boasting the PlayStation 3’s XrossMediaBar menu system that makes it much more user friendly. Those who are interested can pick up the Sony BDP-S5000ES in Japan early this December for approximately $2,700.
