Wired’s gadget lab has a cool feature article presenting how they got Mac OSX running on a Medion Akoya, also known as the MSI Wind. This $499 machine is cute, white, somewhat shiny and could be a great Macbook alternative – if it had Mac OS X on it. That’s the idea behind this “mod” that you can attempt at your own risk. The idea is to install a hacked version of OSX from a USB drive (there’s no optical drive on the Wind). The end result? a 10″ Mac-compatible computer that costs 3.6 times less than the MacBook Air. Ah and that’s not it: it’s been reported that Mac OS X runs faster than XP on this partcular “mod”.
